Internet: User-generated content dying?
An article over at Newsweek states that user-generated content, aka, Web 2.0 is looking grim. Industry experts and professionals on the rise again to take over content. The article fails to mention that a good portion of said “experts” can be biased towards certain company’s, brand name’s, and/or products. As there’s advertisement revenue and sponsorships at stake, professional content can lean towards a certain product over another. I believe in the philosophy: “Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see”. With that said, user generated content does serve its purpose and thats why theres comment sections for others to give their expertise or opinions on the same subject matter.
